What is Dry Needling?
Dry needling involves using thin filament needles inserted into muscle trigger points, tendons, and/or fascial points with the goal of increasing healing, decreasing your pain, and restoring function. Dry needling is not the same as acupuncture, though the tools are the same.
What diagnoses can dry needling be used for?
Carpal Tunnel, Tennis and Golfer's elbow, Arthritis, Back pain (including degenerative disc/joints), SI (sacroiliac) joint disorders, Labral tears Rotator cuff, Knee pain/strains, Ankle sprains, Plantar fasciitis. How does it help? Dry Needling reduces pain, and muscle tension while promoting healing, and increasing range of motion.
Is Dry Needling safe?
When executed by a professional in a clean environment, dry needling is safe and effective. There are precautions taken to ensure the safety of the patient during a dry needling procedure.
The most common side effect might be a small amount of bleeding after needle removal, a small bruise, or muscle soreness for up to 24 hours after treatment. Some people report feeling fatigued following a session.
The most severe side effect is a pneumothorax. We take our patient’s safety very seriously. We will not needle areas if there is a safety concern of pneumothorax.
There are certain people who should not try dry needling: those with metal allergy, needle phobia, anyone with a blood borne or systemic disease,
or anyone who is pregnant.
We will review all precautions and contraindications to ensure you are an appropriate candidate before your session.
$150 for 45-minute session. $100 for 30-minute session.
